Legal Aid Board

Its 3:30 in the afternoon on Thursday 26 th May at the Legal Aid Board. Three Juveniles have been discharged from the Juvenile Court. 1.        Abdul Turay, 14 years old, was charged with, Carrying Offensive Weapons Without Lawful Authority and Loitering with Intent. He spent 7 days at the Police station and 6 days at the Remand Home. He was sentenced with an alternative fine of Le100 000. The fine was paid and they freed. 2.        Mohamed Conteh, 16 years old, was charged with, Carrying Offensive Weapons Without Lawful Authority and Loitering with Intent. He spent 7 days at the Police station and 6 days at the Remand Home. He was sentenced with an alternative fine of Le100 000. The fine was paid and they freed. 3.        Abdul Karim Marah, 14 years old, was charged with House Breaking and Larceny. He spent 1 month and 2 weeks at the Police station and 6 days at the Remand Home. He was discharged for want of evidence. They were represented by Joel Tejan Deen T

Legal Aid Board

36 cases are going to court today Thursday 26th May 2016; 27 cases to the High Court, 7 to the Magistrate courts and 2 to the Juvenile court. The Legal Aid Lawyers will be representing 69 indigents in the different courts; 33 indigents in the High Court, 33 in the Magistrate Courts, and three indigents in the Juvenile Courts.   These indigents will be represented according to the mandate of the Legal Aid Board.
